I cannot believe it has been so long since I have done a Pregnancy update on the blog. Time seems to just fly by, is this just something that happens when you get older?
When I was a kid, time seemed to move so slowly – now I just cannot keep up. My daughter turned 8 this month, how did that happen? Knox is definately not a baby anymore… he is getting so big (so is his personality), and I am 26 weeks pregnant!!! Let’s not even talk about the fact that I am turning 30 this year. I can’t deal.
I survived Knox’s birthday, Christmas, Mikayla’s birthday and first day of school… now it is time to turn my attention to this big baby bump of mine and start preparing for our little boy’s arrival in April. I cannot believe that I will finally get to meet him in just 13 short weeks.
I still feel pretty great, but nights are starting to get a bit uncomfortable. I have never needed a pregancy pillow before but you guys have convinced me that it is the way to go. The heat, however, is making my life extremely difficult. I almost feel physically sick I get so hot. Last night I lay in bed butt naked with two fans blowing on me, flabby boobs blowing in the wind, my huge tummy pointing up at the ceiling, legs everywhere… I fell asleep like that. My poor husband walked in on that unfortunate scenario when he came to bed, I wouldn’t be surprised if I never get to have sex again in my life. It felt good, so YOLO.
I have literally doubled in size this past week, I can tell – this is going to be a big baby. I am loving my baby bump, and after three pregancies I can’t even tell if I am getting more stretchmarks – but I love them too. They tell a story of where my children’s lives began. I refuse to be ashamed of them, I earned them.
I have been craving fizzy drinks like crazy, other than that I don’t seem to have any specific cravings lately besides roses… anything rose scented or flavoured is the best thing ever to me.
I am slowly starting to get things together, and it makes me feel a lot more at ease to have a plan. I created this checklist from past experience, you are welcome to use it too if you need to. The kids are loving watching me bring home bits and bobs for baby, they are so excited to meet him.
The best part? We have a name!! Finally… Cole is not 100% convinced, but it is really important to me so I am letting him choose a middle name and going-home outfit. I might regret this.
Anyway, I need to get baby boy some clothes… I love the Cotton On zip-up babygrows, but where else do you love shopping for your baby boys? I would also love some suggestions for really comfy breastfeeding friendly bra’s.
